Kimbell was cofounded by two good friends and business colleagues Jack Klich and Peter Taran in 2011 and together, they worked hard to grow the business and their expertise in roller technology.

What began as a business based on roller technology soon grew into a number of products including roller shutters, roll up garage doors, laneway doors, and retractable screens. This expertise and depth of products gave Kimbell a leadership position in the Ontario market. Kimbell’s next phase of growth was driven by the needs of its clients in the form of retractable roof pergolas including wall enclosures.

Pergolas have now become the company’s flagship product. Kimbell Pergola’s are of the highest quality because of how the parts are carefully chosen and leveraging the latest in European technology.  As an example, the drive systems are provided by Somfy, the world leader in tubular motors. This relentless focus on quality provides Kimbell the confidence to back its products with a five year limited manufacturer’s warranty.

Today as in its founding, Kimbell is proudly Canadian in its staff and operations and Kimbell’s growth has been a tremendous story of hard work and perseverance. Not all chapters in a story can be one of joy however.  Jack is now the sole leader of the business having lost his partner Peter to cancer in 2018. Jack has now brought in members of his family to continue to grow Kimbell creating a true family run business.
